Kaneko, Matsato A Rank Non-Village Nin

Though Matsato is a full matured adult, he prefers to act like a kid. This is mostly because he can get away with it and it lures his enemies and opponent's into a false sense of security. He often uses his big brown eyes to get his way with most people. The only thing he doesn't like about his size is that women tend to think him as cute in the younger brother way and not in the boyfriend way.

Because Matsato never really stayed in one place for too long, he never really had any friends so he was never attached to anyone except his family. Because of this he doesn't know how to interact with people that well. He also has no real sense of loyalty to anything except his family.

Likes: From his time training with his parents, he has come to enjoy it. He enjoys eating sushi and ramen, sometimes together. He likes to drink on occasion and despite his small size, he can hold his alcohol. Another thing that Matsato enjoys is fishing

Dislikes: Matsato dislikes people who speak ill of their family and disrespect them. He also dislikes people who don't take him seriously because of what he looks like. Because he is so small he hates it when someone picks on someone smaller than them. Though he uses his looks to get what he wants, he hates it when people refer to him as kid.

Birth Arc: Matsato was born the youngest in a family with four daughters. Both of his parents were loving and never favored one child over another, but he was also the only male child they had and because of this, he had certain expectations. As the only male child in the family he was tasked with continuing the family name and because of this, his father was especially hard on him. When Matsato was younger he loved playing with his sisters. His favorite game to play was twister. The game involved one of his sisters grabbing him by the arms and then spinning him around and around until he said stop. This resulted in him becoming extremely dizzy and falling down. As he grew older, he outgrew his favorite game and they had to find something else to do to enjoy themselves. By the time Matsato was seven years old, he was no longer playing games but instead focused on training and because of this, he joined the academy at the age of eight.

Academy Arc: In the days before he joined the academy, his father, an accomplished Jounin, began teaching him some basic Ninjutsu. By the time Matsato was Eight, he was enrolled in the Academy and he quickly ascended to the top of the ranks of his class. This all changed when his sister, who recently became a Chuunin, died while in the field. Matsato was especially close this sister so it hit him hard. Because of her death, he went into a reclusive state and dropped from the top of the class to dead last. He just stopped trying. After being passed over for genin twice, Matsato's father told him that if he didn't get his act together, he would be lose his position as the next head of his family. Before Matsato could get his act together, his clan moved from Konoha and began wondering again.

During this time, Matsato's family encountered several wandering nin who they asked to train their young son. During this time, Matsato quickly grew in power and skill until the wandering nin traveling with his family declared him ready to be a Genin. The wandering nin gave him a test and he quickly succeeded. Afterwords, the Nin told him that he was equivalent in power to a genin. After this, Matsato's father pulled him aside and presented him with the family's ninjato.

Genin Arc: After the wandering nin graduated him to genin, Matsato began taking his studies more serious. With the Wandering Nin with him, he quickly advanced and was soon learning Chuunin level jutsu and he finally unlocked his kekkai genkai. With his Kekkai Genkai unlocked the Wandering Nin began teaching him Kenjutsu. With his Kenjutsu, Yinton, and Raiton Chakra Matsato hoped that he would be able to defeat any opponent that came before him. Though his main focus was on kenjutsu, his teacher made him learn several jutsus that would assist him in a fight. After a couple more years of the Wandering Nin teaching him, the Nin told him that to become a chuunin level ninja he would have to be able to kill someone without mercy. Matsato took a full day to think this over and once he did, he returned to the Wandering Nin and said he was ready. The Nin acknowledged him and gave him the location of Rouge Chuunin Level Nin.

After traveling for several days with the Wandering Nin, he finally arrived at the Rogue Nin's hideout. The Wandering Nin told Matsato that he would have to continue on his own from here. Nodding, Matsato stepped into the abandoned town before calling out the ninja's name. The ninja appeared from a building a moment later. The protector on his forehead showed that he was a former Konoha nin. Matsato nodded to the nin and informed him that he was here to kill him. Before Matsato could react, the Rouge Nin attacked and nearly landed a blow before Matsato activated his swift release. Instead of using it to attack he used it to get out of the way of the incoming blow. This time when the shinobi attacked Matsato was ready. His family's ninjato was in his hands with the tip aimed at his enemy. By the time the shinobi tried to attack him, Matsato was already in his face swinging the sword, well at the shinobi's knee. The shinobi was able to dodge the attack and jump backwards away from Matsato. But after that the shinobi did something very stupid. He called Matsato kid. While Matsato at the time was still only 15 years old, he looked like an 8 year old. Smiling, Matsato tensed up and activated his swift release again but this time the shinobi couldn't get away. The sword made contact and sliced through the shinobi. Unable to move, Matsato quickly finished off the Rogue Nin before calling for the Wandering Nin. When he appeared he grabbed the body and said he would be back in a few days time to continue his education.

A week passed before the the Wandering Nin returned but when he did he brought a pouch full of money. He handed it to Matsato and told him that it was his share from the bounty. He also presented Matsato with package. Inside the package was a set of clothes that was clearly too big for Matsato. Inside was the traditional male kimono with a hakama. Matsato thanked the Wandering Nin but the Nin disregarded it with “You are now a bounty hunter. You can't go around dressing like a little kid.” Matsato nodded again and thanked him again before he went inside the tent to put the outfit on. After several minutes Matsato emerged and joined the Wandering Nin. He informed his father that he was leaving with the Wandering Nin and his mother packed them enough food to last a week. Matsato bid farewell to his parents and climbed onto the Wandering Nin.

Chuunin Arc: During his years as a Chuunin level Ninja, him and the Wandering Nin had become accomplished bounty hunters. With Matsato's speed and sword expertise combined with the Wandering Nin's experience they were brought down most rogue nin by themselves. On occasion they would have to bring in an additional nin to assist in high rank take downs but that was rare. They had become known to some of the villages, one of which was konoha. Because of this they were contacted several times to take down Rogue Nin from their village. One such Ninja would be the proving ground for Matsato to become a Jounin level Ninja. This Missing Nin was a former ANBU and considered to be on the level of a Kage so Matsato and the Wandering Nin brought on two other ninja to assist in the take down. As usual, they only brought on ninja they knew and trusted. They had been double crossed before and they didn't like it. The four ninja took fourteen days to track the S ranked missing nin down. They found him in the middle of a forest but there were traps everywhere. Clearly the ninja didn't want to be disturbed with what he was doing. Whatever he was doing Matsato didn't care and neither did the other ninja.

They carefully approached his base camp but before they within a hundred yards the traps were set off and Matsato, with his swift release, was able to get out of the blast radius in time. His comrades were not so lucky. The two ninja they brought on were lying on the ground dead and the wandering Nin had several Kunai and shuriken stuck in him. This angered Matsato considerably because he considered the Wandering Nin a friend and his teacher. Without activating his swift release, he sprinted towards the S rank nin. He didn't get very close before the ninja turned around and through several kunai at him. Matsato dodged them easily and continued to advance on the nin but before he could take three steps the nin appeared behind him with speed that out did his own. Matsato activated his swift release and was able to barely dodge the attack from the nin. This went on for several hours before Matsato began tiring faster and faster. Knowing he didn't have much left in him, he formulated a plan quickly. After activating his swift release again, he used to tackled the S ranked nin. While he was on him he activated his explosive notes and slapped them all over the ninja before retreating. Before he could fully retreat the Nin was able to get a kunai off which hit him in the back. The tags soon exploded leaving nothing but the head for the bounty. Matsato was careful not to damage the head so he could collect the bounty. After he removed the kunai from his back he walked over to the Wandering Nin who was already dead from his wounds. Matsato retrieved the konoha protector and the Nin's money before digging three holes to bury his comrades. With great strain, the Matsato was able to roll the bodies into the holes and after another hour he had successfully buried the closest thing he had to friends. He quickly returned to his family's house where he would rest for several days before continuing on his his own.

Jounin Arc: Once Matsato returned to his familial home, he asked his mother to attend to his wound. Once that was done, he went to his father and asked him to teach him the clan's jutsu. His father accepted and said they would begin immediately. Mastato, then twenty years old, soon came to master swift release and kenjutsu within four years. After he finished his training with his father, he bid his family fair well and left to strike it out on his own.

Matsato had been laying on the ground for several hours waiting to go to sleep while his comrades watched over him. They had just completed a mission to disrupt enemy supply lines and were now resting before they would make the day long trip back to Konoha. During the battle with the enemy shinobi, Matsato had finally perfected his fighting technique. During the battle he took on several opponents at once using his high speed to maintain his Mid-range attacks. Doing this he lured the shinobi into thinking he couldn't fight. Matsato remembered every single thing that happened in the battle. Matsato, finally giving up on sleep, began thinking the mission from the beginning.
“Matsato, I want you and your squad to go into enemy territory and mess with their supply lines. This will be classified as an S rank mission. We do not know the enemy numbers so you will be going in blind. If you are captured you will have to commit suicide so you don't reveal any secrets about Konoha. That goes for all of you. Be careful and come back alive.”
The aging Hokage sat back in his chair and waited for the shinobi to leave his office.
“As you wish Hokage-sama,” said Matsato as he bowed and disappeared out the window.
The Hokage let out a sigh once the shinobi were gone. This would be a dangerous mission, even for the accomplished members of the Matsato's team and he wasn't sure all of them would come back. He stood up again and said “Get the ANBU ready to go encase one of them isn't able to commit suicide. They will have to be fast.” After the aid left to gather the ANBU, the Hokage walked to the window and gazed out over the city. He knew he wouldn't see the shinobi he sent out as they were already nearing the middle of the forest. He sighed again and waited for the ANBU to get there.

They had traveled two days before they found the supply caravan. It was guarded by several dozen shinobi and half of them were sensors. It would be near impossible to approach the caravan with the sensors so Matsato and his squad quickly calculated several plans that could be implemented. Several of which involved Matsato as the bait to draw the ninja away from the sensors. Two of the squad members went ahead of the caravan and set several traps along the way and at the end of the traps they dug a giant hole and put spikes in it. Before they covered it up, they made sure that the hole would noticeable but that it seems like a trap for a trap. After they finished they waited outside of the sensor's range, or so they hoped. They waited several hours before the caravan came to a stop several hundred yards away from the hole. They had noticed it and were now in the killing zone. They all activated their explosive tags which launched kunai, shuriken, senbon needles, rocks, and anything else they could find that would cause damage when fired. It had its desired effect as the Konoha shinobi approached the carnage. Most of the sensors had been hit by the shrapnel. Matsato was glad they had a mokuten user with them. They had created barrel out of several trees and placed them all over the road and then loaded them with explosive tags and weapons.
Several of the more experienced shinobi were able to get away and they quickly attacked the small group. The Konoha nin were outnumber fourteen to four, and they were stronger opponents. Matsato quickly shouted “Thirteen Bee.” Having gone over the plans extensively while they waited, they quickly moved into action. Matsato quickly engaged five of the shinobi while his squad got three apiece. Using his high speed, Matsato kept his distance while he peppered the enemy with Katon jutsus. Once he was in his rythem, he began mixing Katon and Fuuton Jutsus with each other. Everytime he would use a high power Katon jutsu he would quickly follow it with a fuuton to make it stronger. As he glance over his shoulder he noticed that his squad was almost finished with their opponents. Smiling glanced back to see several of his opponents closing in on him. He feigned a look of shock and quickly, but appeared to fumble, his ninjato from it's scabbard on his back. He gave a few light attacks before he began picking up speed. Kenjutsu was one of his specializations and he was quiet good at it. Several minutes later he was standing over the corpses of his opponents before putting his sword back in its scabbard. He glanced down and noticed that one of the shinobi was still alive. Rather than killing him, he called his medic nin over and told him to heal him enough so that he can be interrogated. He complied and an hour later the nin informed him that he was well enough to be interrogated. Matsato nodded and walked over to where the captured nin was. After several hours of interrogation, Matsato nodded to his group and they disappeared. They had decided to leave the man who had lost an arm and a hand during the battle to fend for himself in the middle of the forest with blood around him. Soon the predators of the night would come and begin their daily ritual. After several hours of traveling, they decided to stop and make camp.
Once Matsato was done analyzing the mission, he was finally feeling tired but he wouldn't get any sleep because it was his time to take watch. So as he watched out, over the forest, listening to the gentle breathing of his comrades, Matsato began feeling homesick. He missing the smell of his mother's cooking and the chess matches he and his father played. He missed the village as a whole. He just wanted the war to end so he can finally settle down and start a family of his own.
