Name: Akio Yamaishi
Age: 17
Personality: Akio is almost always overdramatic and theatrical, often quoting several well-known people and occasionally twisting the quotes to his own needs. He is also easy to anger and jumps into a fight if he thinks someone was taunting or mocking him, which usually gets him into big trouble. Though he is quick to anger, he's more often caring and full of hope.
Much like the rest of the men in his family, Akio is very thick-headed (both metaphorically and literally). Although stubborn, he's also extremely patient and rather carefree with his time, sometimes sitting down for hours to watch clouds go by. Akio also thinks very quickly, except when he's angry and moves entirely by instinct. Otherwise, he can usually out-strategize most of his peers, and loves gloating about it, especially after a particularly difficult game of chess.
Rank: Genin
Bio: Akio was born in Iwagakure to a family with a very proud heritage. The family is said to be descended from the great hero who created the mountains of Iwagakure to keep out enemy ninja, though it has never been proven directly. Growing up in Iwagakure, Akio's father was drafted into a great war in a faraway land. Akio's father tried to give him a necklace a family heirloom, but his mother told the man to take it with him, in hopes that it would keep him safe. A year passed, and the small war was finally over, but Akio's father and the necklace never returned. It was assumed that he had died in the battle, and that a nin had stolen the necklace for his own purposes. The grandfather, though old and frail, left to go and find his son. The old man came back in a few days' time with nothing but a necklace and a sad look upon his face. Akio's father truly was dead.
Though the family was greatly saddened by the loss, they focused their attention on Akio, training him in the ways of the family, teaching him to toughen his mind and body. In between training sessions, Akio often disappeared behind a book to try and escape the thoughts of his father's death and the guilt.
Eventually, his family moved to Konohagakure to escape the memories of Akio's father.
After six years of rigorous training from his family, Akio came to the Academy and was nearly flunked out, due to his stubborn manner. Because to his low scores, he had to repeat the Academy, causing shame to himself and his family and leading to his more carefree style, which allowed him to listen to his teachers and learn the basic jutsu.
Though he passed the Academy, his mother was killed in a riot against refugees from other villages while he was away. This pushed him further into depression and he disappeared, once more, behind books and learning.
